A Hungarian psychology professor once wrote to famous creators asking them to be interviewed for a book he was writing. …
When a big network asked me if they can do an interview with me, I should have said “no”. I gave them hours of my time. The researcher even texted me from time to time, questions that had answers already, only if she Googled my website, which had FAQs. SIDE TRACK: Surprisingly, the researcher even asked me what were the subjects of my paintings — humans, animals or plants. Her title was “Researcher”. I don’t know what to say.
This big network magazine show did not only ask for my time, they even asked for my parents’ time. And a few hours before the said air time, the researcher simply TEXTED, saying sorry because they changed angles. Just an SMS saying sorry.
Time that we could’ve devoted to make more art or more time to actually work.
This interview with GMA News Online though has been one of the best experience of my life. The reporter started, “I’ve read your website so I would avoid all cliche questions.”
“When the world was young, it thought the sun revolved around it. Everything revolved around it. But as the world grew older, it discovered that it was the other way around. The world realized that it was just a tiny speck in the middle of the vast universe.”
