I am Cj de Silva. Some might recognize me as the Promil Kid. I love to paint and illustrate. Advertising is not just a day job for me. Film, moving pictures and music are my escapes.

Hello everyone! I will be participating with Regine here as well as 70+ other artists at the Bloom Arts Festival tomorrow. I have a print for sale there and I will be putting up the artwork on my blogs very soon. Hope you can go check it out in the flesh :D September 29, Cubao X.

Hello dear friends!
If you are in Manila this weekend I highly encourage you to visit the Bloom Arts Festival happening at Cubao X on September 29, 2012! It’s going to be a massive exhibition of some of the best and brightest up-and-coming artists of all mediums in the Philippines so if you can make it, you’ll definitely have a wonderful time!
I have a little piece up there too, so i’m pretty stoked!

Hey boys and girls! It’s the first time that I’d be showing to everyone three of my artworks that have been flooded. Thank God I scanned them high res, now they’re art prints. :)
See all three tomorrow at Bloom Arts Festival, Cubao X, 6PM. :)

Hi everyone! I’m selling my painting entitled Reflection, Perception. Last January, Clinique Philippines invited me together with other female Filipino artists Valerie Chua, Jin Joson and Kasey Albano to be part of their launch event (click here to read more about the event!). We were asked to interpret the theme “You are a work of art”. So here’s my take on it. And now I’m selling it.

If anyone of you is interested, please email me at contact@cjdesilva.com
Please share and reblog! Thank you, folks.

CLINIQUE, a trusted makeup brand, recently commissioned me (together with Valerie Chua, Jin Joson and Kasey Albano) to create an artwork using their new makeup line with my favorite painting medium. They gave us a theme to work on - “you as a work of art”. And here’s what I came up with!

“Reflection, Perception”
12” x 18” inches
Watercolours, Clinique Chubby Sticks, Clinique Foundation, Clinique Eyeliner, Clinique Lid Smoothie
Beauty is perspective. You are the greatest reflection of your idea of beauty. More than other people’s perception of you, what you think is beautiful shapes what you project. When you live your idea of beauty and take care for yourself, mind and body, that’s when it becomes something you can touch and feel.

I enjoyed integrating CLINIQUE’s new makeup line with my artwork because its new colors are vivid (but not flashy), feminine and fun, especially the eyeliners. CLINIQUE’s liners had the classic neutral colors (black, dark blue and army green) but with subtle sparkles.
If you are interested, this artwork is actually for sale. You may send me a private message for the price (because its definitely negotiable).

Of course I would. But instead of a doodle, why not a clean sketch? :)
Hugs Saab.

This particular cabinet makeover idea inspired me. I’ve kept my room too plain for so long. It’s about time to make it spiffy again.
